As the Ravine House master bathroom reno continues, it’s time for me to continue planning the rest of the upstairs. The hardwood has been chosen, the paint is in and now, I need to focus on my master bedroom design! And I need some help!!!

Ok here’s the dilemma – I want to try and keep it on the budget friendly side and spend the majority of the moola on lighting. I’m not able to factor a new bed frame into the budget, so I am opting for the “no headboard” look and will probably jazz the bed up with some new pillows (insert Ryan groaning here – he hates how many pillows we own!). I can keep my existing side tables (old ones from Ikea – nothing special) and potentially spend a little more on an area rug OR I could get some new mid century inspired pieces but then skimp on other areas. Take a look below and let me know which one you think could work better…master bedroom design option 1Master Bedroom Design 1: Chandelier and Sconces are from West Elm, side tables I found on but Target has some similar for much cheaper, I plan to use my Laure Joliet Print possibly above the bed, this dresser is also a West Elm find and the rug is from Rugs USA just for inspiration – I’ll probably try to find something local instead.
master bedroom design option 2Master Bedroom Design 2: For this design, I have kept my original Ikea tables, the dresser is similar to the one above but it has the white top & sides versus the front.

So the question of the day is – do you think I can get away with keeping my old end tables? Which dresser option looks better?? Comment away and help this girl out!
